June and Leslie Craig have recently donated £6200 to The Freeman Heart and Lung Transplant Association. This sum will provide much needed support to those the relatives and friends of those patients of the Freeman Hospital who are undergoing Transplant Surgery and fund research into further and ongoing treatments.
The Money was raised by June and Leslie’s many friends and colleagues following a charity Cycle on the 18th – 21st August where Leslie his son Matthew and four other friends cycled the entire length of Ireland in 4 days.
This Cycle from Mizen Head in County Cork to Malin Head in county Donegal comprised 410 Miles. Training for this cycle took place over the previous 12 months to ensure that the participants were fit enough to take on 100 miles plus per day.
Friends and family helped along the way with Food stops and Bicycle repairs.
We wish to thank the 6 cyclists: Leslie, Matthew, Dr Archie Fullerton, Derick Gamble, Stephen Holden and Trevor Kilgore for all their efforts, and also Brendan Patton and his wife Jean for their expertise in cycle repairs and traffic management. To all who contributed to this magnificent sum whether through cash collection on our Sponsorship Forms or via the ‘Just Giving’ Face book page we thank you all most sincerely.
