British Transplant Games Newport 2019

British Transplant Games Newport 2019

Thanks to CHUF

This Year we had 8 child competitors and 53 supporters, which included parent’s siblings and grandparents, as well as Our volunteers who are a great asset to the team,

Our volunteers provide great support to the families over the weekend.

Our children won 3 Gold, 1 silver and 3 Bronze medals for their chosen sports.

Oliver Harrison also won the team award for best all-rounder on the team.

Elodie Gray won the Emily Linaker memorial award for the most Medals over the weekend.

Ryan O’Callaghan’s Dad Shane won the Award for best team football coach.

And Aiden’s mum Lily won the award for the most organized person on the team, which she was ecstatic about.

Over the weekend the children enjoyed a pizza night, with disco and hall games. Funds for this were provided by Shirley Coyle in memory of her late husband John who was a double Lung Transplant.

Heart Transplant recipient Kez Greenwood and family have been fundraising for the children as well and we hope to book a Fun social night next year with their donation.

The weekend was a huge success, and we are already planning for next year in Coventry,

If you are a parent of a transplant child and would like to join our Crazy team at the games please ask at clinic E Julie, Terry or Sandra will give you my contact details or keep an eye out in clinic for posters.

Michelle Saunders Team Manager.
