Organ Donation Week 2025 in Full Swing!

Organ Donation Week 2025 in Full Swing!

Organ Donation week is almost half way through.

Buildings throughout our region are being lit pink in recognition, stories of organ transplants are making our news and several volunteers are busy giving their time to raise awareness.

Daily representatives are joining Lynn Holt at the Freeman Hospital throughout the week and today Win Comb, double lung recipient Keith Forster, Mary Forster and heart transplant recipient Alex Workman  were busy engaging with the public today at the Metro Centre which is also where Alex works.

During the day, people left who are now hopefully going to take positive action, shared their stories of their own kidney transplants and their pride of their children who after life saving transplantation recently ran the Great North Run.

Hopefully all are going to have that all important conversation with their loved ones.

Well done to Keith, Mary, Win, Alex and all our volunteers giving their time to raise the much needed awareness.
