Pride of FHLTA 2026

Introducing the Pride of FHLTA Award

Every transplant journey is unique, and every recipient has a story worth celebrating.

The Pride of FHLTA Award is a new annual award recognising a member of the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association who has achieved something they once thought impossible following their heart or lung transplant.

This isn’t about extraordinary sporting achievements or public recognition. It’s about celebrating the personal milestones that make a real difference—whether that’s returning to work, rebuilding confidence, supporting others, overcoming challenges, reaching a personal goal, or simply embracing life with courage and determination.

No achievement is too small. Sometimes the greatest accomplishments are the ones that mean the most.

Who can be nominated?

Any heart or lung transplant recipient who is a member of the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association.

Nominations are welcome from family members, friends, fellow members, healthcare professionals or anyone who has been inspired by their journey.

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear about someone who has:

  • Achieved a personal goal following their transplant.
  • Shown courage and resilience in overcoming challenges.
  • Inspired others through their attitude, determination or kindness.
  • Made a positive difference to those around them or within the transplant community.
  • Embraced the gift of life and made the most of their second chance.
