Maggie Cowman was a beloved member of FHLTA and many had the pleasure of meeting her during British Transplant Games.
Her passion was Croquet, with her home club in Ripon continuing to raise funds for FHLTA in her memory.
Please see message from them below, and a link to their website where there are some lovely photographs, the full story and details of their next annual event in Maggie’s name.
Ripon Spa Croquet Club supports the FHLTA
For four years we have held a special croquet festival to raise money and awareness for the work of the Freeman Heart and Lung Transplant Association. We were aware the wonderful support you give transplant patients through our good friend Maggie Cowman who enjoyed every extra day of life her transplant gave her to the full and passed on her enthusiasm and zest for living to all who met her.
It makes us value every day we have.
She shared her love of croquet with many and introduced it to the World Transplant Games.
The generosity of Donors and their families in giving so generously to strangers the most precious gift that can ever be given is so impressive.
We are pleased to be a supportive part in that process and remember our good friend.
